PM hails FBR’s record Rs3,780b collection

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday commended the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) efforts on achieving growth of 57 percent in April 2021 with
collections recorded at Rs382 billion, compared to Rs240 billion in April last year.
In a tweet, prime minister said: “I commend FBR efforts on achieving growth of 57 percent in April 2021 with collections recorded at Rs384 billion compared to Rs240 billion in April 2020. During July-April, collections reached Rs3,780 billion 14 percent higher than the same period last year. This shows our policies have led to broad-based economic revival.”

ISLAMABAD: India´s devastating Covid surge accelerated further on Saturday with more than 400,000 new cases recorded in 24 hours, as it opened its faltering vaccination programme to all adults.
India on Saturday set yet another daily global record with 401,993 new cases, taking its tally to more than 19.5 million. Another 3,688 people died in the past 24 hours, raising the overall fatalities to 215,523. Experts believe both figures are an undercount.
Indian authorities lowered their guard in the early part of the year after infections fell, lifting restrictions on most activity and allowing mass religious and political gatherings to take place. Less then two months after the health minister said India was in the end game of the pandemic and New Delhi sent millions of vaccines abroad, the surge has sent worried Indians rushing for the jabs still in the country.

My son, Sergeant Alexander Brimelow, seen here meeting his sister Victoria Beauregard in April, has just left the U.S Marine Corps after five years active duty, including a year in Afghanistan. Although I have never mentioned his service on VDARE.com because I am sure the Obama Administration already believes the Armed Forces are hotbeds of reaction, I now feel free to say how proud I am of it, and how grateful to everyone involved, including the drill instructors he was too terrified to introduce us to when he graduated from Parris Island in October 2010.
